Prospering in 2025

Hi Friends and Family,

As 2025 comes to an end, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for you all! My year has been so much brighter because you were in it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being on this journey with me!

On January 1st, I chose prosperity as my word for the year. According to Merriam-Webster, to prosper means to ‘succeed in an enterprise or activity’ or ‘flourish physically; grow strong and healthy.’ I definitely grew as an individual and author. Looking back these past 12 months, I prospered more than I could’ve dreamed including:

  • Attending six different book signings, including Indie Author Day as a local, published author at In Bloom Bookery.

  • Speaking on three different Podcasts about my books, dreams, and future author career

  • Going to local bookclubs and meeting readers

  • Self-publishing the second book in my Scottish Stars Series, Where the Stars Burn

As a friendly introvert coping with high-functioning anxiety, I pushed myself to truly get out there and introduce readers to my books and spread love via in person events and podcasts. Yes, I had a few anxiety riddled moments, but guess what? I experienced more joy and love than I could’ve ever imagined. If you have a dream that you think is out of your comfort zone, I implore you to take a chance on yourself. You CAN do it.

On October 20th, I self-published the second book in my Scottish Stars series, Where the Stars Burn, an opposites-attract romcom about the risk and rewards of taking a chance on yourself, love, and and unknown future (and will be self-publishing book 3 next year). Eee! This was a big one for me. And I am so glad I took a chance on myself and self-published this beautiful book.

What does this mean?

It means that when you purchase WHERE THE STARS BURN, you’re directly supporting my small business, my creativity, and funding the next books, meaning I’m able to get more books to you faster, including book 3 in the Scottish Stars Series, debuting in 2026.

And with the momentum in my author career, I’ve also seen growth personally, not only for me, but for my family, including my husband, Charles. Yes, the past six months have been extremely emotionally and physically exhausting with my husband undergoing two critical, life-saving brain surgeries, but I grew in my faith and my relationship with God. We both did. We continue to put God first, immerse ourselves in the word, and grasp our faith as Charles grows stronger and healthier every day. I love him so much and can’t wait for him and our family to thrive once again.

Love always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

To share our story and bring hope to others, I also decided to be brave and finish my memoir this year. For fans of The Vow, Love Warrior, and You Could Make This Place Beautiful, THE WORDS BETWEEN US is a vulnerable and beautiful memoir about love, faith, and second chances, revealing that even with loss, you can find love again and beauty in the unexpected. There’s even an agent waiting to read it (pinch me!). I’m almost done with the final edits and can’t wait to share more with you soon!

It has been an incredible year and books have been both a lifeline and escape for me—writing, reading, and creating. I hope my books have enabled you to escape and find joy through the pages also!
